Back in the dinosaur days while getting my psychology degree (a career I retired from in 2010) I was taking a
series of photography classes. The first time in a darkroom when an image popped up in the chemicals I fell
hopelessly in love with the magic. That love affair has continued through the decades and when the digital age arrived it expanded the love and the capabilities a thousand fold. My second love was genealogy so it was
inevitable that those two passions would marry and bear their perfect child: professional photo restoration! Over the years I have restored thousands of photos, from images that were so damaged it was impossible at first to recognize the subjects to negatives that had been buried in a box of buttons and paperclips for so many decades. While each image poses its own unique challenges, it also allows for a very personal
journey of discovery and momentary relationship with the subjects in the picture, because it is impossible to
work on an image often times literally "a pixel at a time", and not get a feel for the people or places in the photo
Sitting in front of my computer and repairing an image of a loved one,of bringing life back into an image that has suffered the inevitable impact of time is a connection with the past, with our personal histories and with the generations that make us who we are. It is a way of saying thank you to those who came before.
My pledge is to produce the very best results on a photograph and provide the kind of customer service that
seems more and more to exist back in that almost forgotten age. Digital photo restoration is a way of preserving our treasures for future generations.
